Chuncho Urushayhua’ is a rare and pure genetic variety of Peruvian cacao that has been wildcrafted for centuries by the Machiguenga people, deep in the high jungle of the Peruvian Andes. It is believed that this sacred cacao carries a particular frequency that resonates with the human soul.
As traditions and stories about the spirit of Cacao echo between the mountain jungles of Peru to the Mayan Peninsula, our quest isn’t to replicate but to establish our own unique relationship with this universal Medicine of the heart, while honouring its origins and the Indigenous cultures.
What Does It Taste Like
This premium variety is both unique and well balanced, with a flavour profile boasting woody cognac, sweet fruity wine and toffee flavours. Strong notes of cinnamon are accompanied by the perfume of vanilla and freshly brewed green tea.
It's not your typical hot chocolate. Instead, it offers the deep, nutrient-rich essence of real cacao, with a hint of bitterness and a touch of fruitiness. The natural fats in the cacao paste lend a luscious richness, creating a thick, velvety brew. By adding a natural sweetener like honey or coconut sugar, milk of choice and a pinch of salt, a harmonious balance can be found, without hindering the rawness of 100% pure cacao.
Serving Size | Dose?
Our Sun Discs are 33g, for your first cacao experience we recommend starting off with half a disc and gradually increasing to a whole disc. For more versed cacao consumers, we recommend no more than 1 and a half discs.

How Do I Prepare The Disc?
Place the half disc or disc in your drinking vessel, pour boiling hot water on top and mix briskly until all is dissolved. We like to add a bit of warm plant milk, honey or maple as well as some cayenne and cinnamon.
How Frequently Can I Consume?
You can have ceremonial cacao as often as once a day offering a gentle yet powerful replacement to coffee. Alternatively you can serve yourself cacao as a more intentional weekly ritual.

Refund policy If you need to return a product, we want to make the process simple and easy for you in the instance that item is damaged or incorrectly supplied. Please call our team within 48 hours of receipt of goods, or email within 48 hours of receipt of goods and attach an image of the product with your email. We will issue a return reference number to be included with the returned goods. Any claims outside this time-frame will not be accepted. Credits will be processed when goods are received back to our distribution centre. Goods sent back without prior advice being given to us will not be accepted. Health Nuts Australia are unable to issue returns or credits for perishable and fresh produce items, as well as unwanted or incorrectly ordered items. Returns cannot be redeemed for cash and Health Nuts Australia will issue an on-line credit only.
